Submissions

We're adept at handling fiction and non-fiction for adult audiences. Please send us NO queries on poetry, short stories, arts and crafts or children’s books.

If you believe in your book, focus it to capture editors’ interest, and demonstrate the kind of technical skills expected of a professional writer. Even if you’re a newbie, you’ll find us to be the “wind beneath your wings.”

Our favorite fiction categories include literary and mainstream commercial, including but not limited to: action/adventure, family saga, historical, military/war, mystery, suspense/thrillers, spiritual, contemporary, ethnic, feminist. If your query entices us, we will request more material.

For nonfiction, we prefer health/medicine, alternative health, women’s issues, sex, business/finance, relationship, how-to/self-improvement, popular psychology, sociology, food/nutrition/fitness, history/politics/current affairs, child guidance/parenting, pop culture, music, science/technology, spirituality/New Age, travel, lifestyle, humor, animals and narrative journalism. We work with a proposal only, NOT a manuscript of the book. If your query letter talks about your proposal, great! If it indicates you want to send us part of the manuscript, you are sure to make us cranky. You need to demonstrate you know the ropes!

If your book does not easily fit into one of these categories and you can make a good case for it, we'd like to see your query. We DO accept first-time authors if your material meets (or exceeds—that never hurts!) standard editorial requirements. Allow 4 to 6 weeks for our evaluation, but we’ll respond almost immediately to let you know we’ve received REQUESTED material.
